Voice for Change Newsletter Archive #10 04/10

Hi everyone.   After the Voice for Change Newsletter was sent on March 28th we suffered a major computer system crash with the hard drive on this main communications computer failing. As a consequence we have been offline for some 10 days.   Also as a result of the crash all emails both sent and received since December 2009 have been lost. This includes the contact details of hundreds of subscribers to the Voice for Change Newsletter over the last 3 months and unfortunately we have no way of contacting these people to advise them.   We have attempted to rebuild the newsletter subscription list from our contact list prior to December and some who receive this may not wish to be included on future Voice for Change newsletter mail outs. If that is the case please reply to this notification with Unsubscribe and we will remove you immediately – we sincerely apologies for any inconvenience.   If during the last 3 months you have supplied alternative email addresses for the newsletter to be sent to, please resend us these notifications.   This weeks features are few due to the reasons above, however they are a must read as they again highlight some of the pressing issues facing us in our modern lives. The issues of toxins in our foods and products that we are exposed to everyday, is one we all need to be alerted too. As you may remember this issue was covered to some extent with the article on genetically modified foods in Doctor Warn: Avoid genetically modified food.   Voice for Change – Newsletter   This week:

FDA says studies on triclosan, used in sanitizers and soaps, raise concerns- Concerns are being raised about the safety of some common products we use everyday

More Bad News for Soda Drinkers: BPA Found in Cans - BPA which has been in use as a coating in cans for foodstuffs and drinks since the 1950′s is proving to be a serious risk. This has slipped under the regulatory radar for far too long and needs urgent legislation worldwide to ban the use of this carcinogenic toxin from all use in canned products and including its use as an additive in the polymer PET used to manufacture plastic bottles.
